Ride the Metromover

Want to take a ride above Downtown Miami and Brickell (Miami’s financial district) without spending a dime? Go to the other side across the bridge from South Beach. That is, take the MacArthur Causeway until it reaches mainland (the S and the C buses will take you). There’s a bus station there called “OMNI Station.” Once there, if you look up, you’ll see the Metromover tracks and the escalator that takes you there.

This little electrical train runs every day from 5am until midnight and connects the Downtown Miami, Brickell, Park West and Omni neighborhoods. It arrives frequently and you can transfer between routes at specific points. Here’s a map with the Metromover stations.

The best part, the Miami Metromover is FREE.

Rmember, the routes are loops which means that, if you stay in the cart, you’ll eventually arrive again to the station where you took it.

One suggestion: Let it take you to Bayside Marketplace (a few stops away) and enjoy a nice meal or do some shopping.

Routes:

  • Inner Loop: the shortest ride. Circles the Downtown Miami area.
  • Omni Loop: Circles the Downtown Miami area and heads North towards the PAMM – Perez Art Museum Miami.
  • Brickell Loop: Circles the Downtown Miami area and heads towards Brickell and the Financial District.
